Fun Learning Summer (4 - 6 yrs)

This summer playgroup takes place over two 2 week sessions (details below) children can be signed up for either or both sessions.

Session 1: Wonders of Science

Let your children experience the wonders of science and develop scientific skills this summer. During the course of this two week session the children will do hands-on activities designed to promote curiosity, creativity and self esteem, whilst at the same time having fun.

Learning about Science helps children to develop skills of observation, measurement and prediction. The unit will cover a core of topics from ecology to magnets. The children will immerse themselves in the magic of Science.

Session 1: 7 - 18 July 2008
Time: 9 am to 12:30 pm

Session 2: The Story Box

This program is designed to make learning a pleasurable experience. During this two week session the emphasis on stories of all kinds: traditional and modern, short and long, funny and scary; stories to be listened to and stories to be read, alone or with friends.

There is more to Story Box than entertainment value alone. The stories, anecdotes and rhymes that we explore in the session are introduced within a methodical framework, which covers all the aspects of vocabulary, contextual clues, repetition in an unobtrusive manner. The learning will still take place which in no way diminishes from the impact and enjoyment of the story lines themselves.
